Buddhist COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY
Counselling & Psychotherapy
A compassionate space to explore what you are experiencing, understand the patterns that may be holding you back, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and your life.
About Chanan
Counsellor & Mindfulness Teacher | Blue Morpho Edinburgh
I’m a counsellor and mindfulness teacher with an Honours degree in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Buddhist Counselling and Psychotherapy.
For over twenty years, my journey has centred on exploring psychology, emotional wellbeing and contemplative practices. I trained with David and Caroline Brazier, whose approach brings together Western psychotherapy and Buddhist psychology.
My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity and a deep interest in understanding the human experience.

How I Can Help
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be experiencing:

Anxiety, worry or depression

Feeling overwhelmed

Relationship difficulties

Uncertainty about life’s direction

Grief and loss

A challenging period of change

Feeling disconnected from yourself

Difficulty finding clarity
Whatever brings you to counselling, I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, feel heard and explore your experiences at your own pace.
My Approach to Counselling
My approach is influenced by Buddhist psychology, mindfulness and a holistic understanding of human wellbeing. Our work is collaborative and responsive to your individual needs.

Buddhist psychology
Our beliefs, habitual patterns and the stories we hold about ourselves can shape our experiences and sometimes contribute to suffering. Through awareness and gentle exploration, we may begin to loosen limiting patterns and discover new ways of relating to ourselves and the world around us.

Mindfulness & presence
Mindfulness can help us reconnect with our bodies and the present moment. Through attentive reflection, we can begin to notice our thoughts and feelings with greater openness, developing a deeper understanding of our experiences.

Connection & belonging
Our relationship with the natural world can offer another way of experiencing connection, belonging and balance. Exploring this connection can help us see ourselves as part of a wider world, rather than separate from it.
Space for deeper exploration
Sometimes our work may focus on understanding a difficult situation, finding clarity or developing practical ways to navigate life’s challenges. At other times, counselling can become an opportunity for deeper reflection, including questions of identity, meaning and existence.
There is space for this philosophical and spiritual dimension, but it is always an invitation, never an expectation.
AT THE HEART OF MY PRACTICE
A collaborative process
Rather than offering ready-made answers, I hope to create a space where understanding, insight and meaningful change can emerge through our work together.

A Little About Me
I’ve always been curious about people—how we experience life, what shapes us and what helps us feel more connected to ourselves and others.
Originally from Poland, I spent much of my adult life living, studying and working in Scotland, where I developed my therapeutic practice and co-founded Blue Morpho Edinburgh.
Living across different cultures has enriched my understanding of identity, belonging, relationships and the many ways we experience the world.
Alongside my counselling practice, I have a longstanding involvement with mindfulness, meditation and nature-based practices, including forest bathing and mindful walking. Spending time in nature continues to inspire both my personal life and professional work.
I believe that meaningful change doesn’t always require becoming someone different. Sometimes it begins with seeing ourselves more clearly, letting go of familiar limitations and discovering a little more freedom in how we experience life.
